Quick answer: Install myPhonak, turn on Bluetooth and Location, tap “Pair hearing aids,” put the hearing aids in pairing mode, then tap Pair on each Bluetooth request.

Steps

  1. Install the free myPhonak app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth (Settings › Bluetooth; on Samsung: Settings › Connections › Bluetooth).
  3. Turn on Location. Phonak says Android needs this the first time you pair. You can turn it off after setup.
  4. Open myPhonak, follow the setup screens, then tap Pair hearing aids and tap Allow when asked about nearby devices.
  5. Follow the app’s instructions to put your hearing aids in pairing mode (about 3 minutes), then tap Continue. If you wear two, wait until both appear.
  6. Tap the green Pair button. Tap Pair on each Bluetooth request. It may show up in your notifications instead of on screen.
  7. Older Phonak models may need one extra step in the app to set up calls and streaming. The app will show it.

If it won’t connect

Phonak recommends: close all apps, turn Bluetooth off and on, restart your phone, remove every Phonak entry from your Bluetooth list, then in myPhonak tap Devices › Product Information › Forget my device(s) and pair again. If that fails, uninstall and reinstall myPhonak. More tips in our disconnecting troubleshooter.
